Articulated Laptop Pivot Mount for Harley Davidson Motors w/Optional Printer Case
FMS Accessories has modified our popular laptop / printer mount for use in Harley Davidson radio boxes. This new mounting system attaches to the four bolt stand-off's in the stock H-D radio box (not direct bolt-on for new Whelen box - see optional mounts below). Adapting laptop computers to motorcycles has been a challenge for years. Space on a police motor is always at a premium, yet all agencies want to utilize as much common equipment as possible, including laptops. Additionally, agencies are faced with the logistical issues of using the laptop, while wanting to keep an eye on the violator and not standing with your back to approaching traffic. FMS Accessories has developed a pivot mounting that allows the laptop to be opened and rotate around the radio box, enabling better positioning of the officer relative to the violator and traffic. Select the laptop mount type as well as the base plate mount type (generic Velcro most popular). Low profile printer housing shown is included. Select roll paper spindle diameter based on your agency paper supplier. Brother PocketJet Printer not included.

The laptop pivot mounting was originally developed for the Florida Highway Patrol BMW motor utilizing a Dell Latitude 12 Rugged Extreme 7204 laptop (handle removed). The laptop pivot mount is used together with an articulated base plate that holds the printer enclosure.
The laptop pivot base rotates on a 2.5" nylon bearing, which can be adjusted for drag / tension. The laptop pivot mount is available as a generic plate (most popular choice) where you can attach other brand laptops using Velcro. Note for Whelen Boxes: This mount was designed to bolt directly to the four stand-off bolts used on the stock Harley / Code 3 rear box. The newest Whelen box does not have the stand-off in the same place along with a more shallow lid. To solve this problem new mounting brackets are available, which eliminates the aluminum "floor" plate and lower the internal deck height. The FMS articulated mount bolts directly to these new mounting brackets available using the radio button at right.
